The transformation of the old Denburn health centres site into a Urban sports centre, a hub for the community in need of redefining a previously disaffected site.
The building was to house urban sports including skating, climbing and parkour. Alongside the more conventional halls for racquet sports, football and basketball.
The form of the building originated from the height requirement of each activity, leading to the constraints of the lowest when skating and the highest being the full 18m rock climbing wall.
The left of the building acted as the spine of circulation having direct views the the activities to the right. The building is entered from a main junction in the area. giving the building direct entry with a café space which allows everyone to experience.
